Weekend sport preview - 21 April: Scottish Grand National, golf and rugby

The Scottish Grad National takes place this weekend

In need of a sporting fix these weekend? From the Scottish Grand National to a star-studded, team-style PGA Tour event in Louisiana — plus Gallagher Premiership rugby — there's plenty piquing our interest. Here's a look at three sporting stories set to unfold in the coming days.

Scottish Grand National

In horse racing, all eyes will be on Ayr Racecourse as the Scottish Grand National takes centre stage. Favourite Kitty's Light, trained by Christian Williams, will face rivals including last year's winner Mighty Thunder and Monbeg Genius. Trainer Lucinda Russell, fresh from her Grand National triumph with Corach Rambler, will be hoping for a dream fortnight as she's represented by Your Own Story and Mighty Thunder. The race starts at 3.35 pm, with coverage available on STV/ITV.

While you follow the action, don't miss the chance to book our exclusive hospitality packages at the Epsom Derby and Royal Ascot this summer. Call our team at 0141 357 2712 for details, and start planning for Cheltenham 2024 with us today! Secure your spot for a memorable racing experience, complete with top-class hospitality.

The 2023 Zurich Classic

A break from the norm on the PGA Tour, this tournament has a team-style format (not unlike the rebel LIV Tour). Defending champions Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay, ranked among the world's top players, will face off against strong contenders like Collin Morikawa and Max Homa and last year's runners-up Billy Horschel and Sam Burns. With 80 teams participating in four-ball and foursomes, this event should deliver some memorable moments.

If you're a golf fan, don't miss out on our exclusive packages for the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool this summer. Call us now to find out more: 0141 357 2712.

Gallagher Premiership Rugby

If you plan to spend most of your weekend in front of the box, there's plenty of Gallagher Premiership rugby to enjoy — with all but one live fixture on BT Sport. On Friday night, bottom side Newcastle Falcons take on Northampton Saints, who currently occupy the fourth play-off spot. Saints have London Irish and Harlequins breathing down their necks, and anything other than a win could jeopardise their title hopes. On Saturday at 3pm, choose from a West Country derby between Exeter Chiefs and Bristol Bears (the only weekend fixture on PRTV), or Harlequins v Bath at Twickenham. Gloucester host title-chasing Sale in the evening kick-off. On Sunday, league leaders Saracens face top-four hopefuls London Irish in what could be the pick of the weekend's matches.

While you're here, don't miss out on our exclusive hospitality packages for the Summer Series Rugby in August, as Wales take on South Africa and England at the Principality Stadium. Witness top-class rugby as teams prepare for their World Cup campaigns, and experience the finest corporate hospitality. For more info, check our Packages, or call our team on 0141 357 2712.
